Teaching Ideas & Examples

The CITE Instructional Tool Forge
The figures below detail how to use the entry form to begin creating an instructional tool. Follow the instructions as shown. If you have any additional questions, contact Daniel Anderson (iamdan@unc.edu).
Begin by selecting the kind of tool you would like to create
Possible Complications: (1.) You may be unsure which tools do what or how you might use a given tool in your teaching. Get more information from the Ideas & Examples page where you can explore what other instructors have done with each of the available tools. (2.) You may get an error message asking you to select a tool upon submitting the Create Tool button. Return and double check that the pulldown menu has one of the CITE tools selected.

Finish by entering an account name and selecting the Create Tool button
Possible Complications: (1.) You may not have an account on the SITES server. The server supports courses taught in the Composition Program at UNC, Chapel Hill. You are welcome, however, to experiment and create tools on a small scale using "visitor" as the account name. If you would like more information about using these tools on a long term basis, contact Daniel Anderson (iamdan@unc.edu). (2.) You may have an account on the SITES server that is unrecognized by the tool creation script or that requires some preconfiguration. Again, contact Daniel Anderson (iamdan@unc.edu) for assistance with preparing your account for tool creation.
