This workbook provides assignments, activities, and resources for Language Arts instruction. Materials have been created primarily by pre-service teachers at the University of North Carolina. The site and the materials are created with the belief that literacies overlap and that approaching information and language literacies in terms of one another can help teachers develop Language Arts assignments.

Iwill represents the teaching and learning taking place in English 31, Advanced Composition and Rhetorical Theory. The Web resources and assignments here evolve from out studies of teaching and writing. We focus on understanding the processes of writing, the social dimensions of writing, the role of critical thinking in literacy, and the benefits of understanding rhetorical situations. In all of these areas we also concentrate on using information technology in the service of successful writing instruction.
